Everholm is a cozy pixel-art RPG that blends farming simulation with a story-driven mystery. Play as Lilly, pulled through a portal onto an island where every stranger already knows her name. Build a homestead, win the trust of the Everfolk, and find out what happened to your missing sister, Melanie. Released 11 November 2024 for Windows on Steam.
Lilly was spirited away to a mysterious island - Everholm. The island's residents seem to know
her, speaking of prophecies and
ancient mysteries. As Lilly establishes her new life, she must uncover the truth behind her
sister's disappearance and the island's secrets.
But time works differently on Everholm Island. Each day brings new mysteries, and memories seem
to shift like the island's ever-changing seasons. Are Lilly's memories real, or are they part of
the island's magic?
Everholm Island exists in a realm between reality and dreams. Ancient ruins scattered across the
island hint at a civilization that mastered both agriculture and magic. The Everfolk are the
guardians of these ancient secrets, passing down their knowledge through generations.
The Everfolk
The island's residents are the Everfolk, and each of the twenty carries a piece of Everholm's magic. Fiona keeps the witchcraft shop, Molly runs the bakery, Hannah works the crafting workshop, Zac trades at the market, and then there is Strange Steve. Earn their trust and each of them gives up a clue — to Melanie's disappearance, and to Lilly's own forgotten past.
Ancient Magic
Magic flows through Everholm like the changing seasons. The ancient ruins contain powerful
artifacts, and the island's crops are imbued with magical properties. As Lilly learns to harness
these powers, she begins to understand her true connection to the island.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Everholm is a cozy pixel-art RPG that blends farming simulation with a mystery-driven story. It was made by the Serbian indie studio Chonky Loaf, published by indie.io and Levelup Games, and released on Steam on 11 November 2024. You play as Lilly, who steps through a magical portal onto Everholm Island, builds a new life there, and searches for her missing sister Melanie.
Everholm is sold on Steam for Windows PC. You can buy it, or download the free demo first, from the Steam store page.
No. Everholm is currently a Windows-only Steam release. There is no macOS or Linux build, and no Nintendo Switch, Xbox or PlayStation version has been announced. The game does have full controller support, so an Xbox, DualShock or DualSense pad works on PC.
Yes. A free Everholm demo is on Steam. It covers the opening of the game — arriving on the island, your first crops, foraging and fishing, and meeting the Everfolk — so you can try the feel of it before buying. Progress from the demo does not carry over into the full game.
Everholm's standard price is $19.99 USD, with Steam regional pricing elsewhere. It goes on sale regularly — discounts of up to 40% have appeared during Steam seasonal sales — so wishlisting it is the easiest way to be told when the price drops.
Both are cozy farming games, but Everholm goes its own way:
An isometric island rather than a top-down valley
A central mystery — your missing sister — driving a non-linear story
The Underworld: a procedurally generated dungeon with monsters, weapons and spells
Magic threaded through the crops, tools and crafting
A small, tightly written cast of 20 Everfolk instead of a large village
Single-player by design — there is no farm co-op
Everholm is open-ended and has no time limit, so it lasts as long as you want it to. Following the main mystery through to its end is a substantial playthrough spread over several evenings. If you also want to max out your skills, raise every animal, clear the Underworld and befriend all twenty Everfolk, there is a great deal left to do afterwards.
Everholm saves automatically as each in-game day ends, and you can also save manually. Steam Cloud is supported, so your progress follows your Steam account between PCs, and the game is enabled for Steam Family Sharing.
Chonky Loaf has kept patching Everholm since launch with bug fixes, balance changes and quality-of-life improvements. There is no published roadmap of dated content drops, so the reliable places to follow what is coming are the Everholm news feed on Steam and the official Discord server.
Not officially. Everholm has no Steam Workshop integration and Chonky Loaf has not released modding tools or announced any. If that changes, it will be announced on the Steam page and in the official Discord.
Everholm's interface and subtitles are available in English and Simplified Chinese. No further in-game languages have been announced. This website is available in 19 languages — use the globe menu at the top of the page.
Everholm was developed by Chonky Loaf, a small independent team based in Niš, Serbia, and published by indie.io together with Levelup Games. It launched on Steam on 11 November 2024.
No. Everholm is a single-player game. There is no online or local co-op and no shared farm, and multiplayer has not been announced.
Everholm has full controller support on Steam, including Xbox pads and Sony DualShock and DualSense controllers. Because the game ships only as a Windows build, playing it on Steam Deck runs through Proton rather than a native Linux version.
Everholm's Steam user rating is "Mostly Positive", from several hundred reviews — roughly three out of four are positive. Players most often praise the art, the music and the warmth of the island; the most common criticisms concern pacing and some early-release rough edges, many of which have since been patched.
